Zechariah 14

14 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.

[ The Day of the LORD is the day that Jesus was crucified.  This is the Day that God made reconciliation for cleansing of the sins of the world.  What was the spoil?  It was the OT people who believed in Jesus, his death, blood, and resurrection.  They were the spoil he took for his sacrifice in their place.  They were divided by being taken away from the OT law system and brought into the NT grace covenant. 

2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

[ If you think this is speaking about the natural, earthly town of Jerusalem you will never see the truth of the Word of God nor of this chapter.  Jesus, his kingdom, is this Jerusalem.  Jerusalem was in the Garden of Eden.  Unless you learn this you will never understand Scripture.

God’s word is about JESUS CHRIST.  Jesus himself said, Search the Scriptures for in them you think you have eternal life and they are they which TESTIFY OF ME.  

So if what you are reading does not testify of Jesus it is not Scripture or God’s word.

So when did all nations gather against Jesus?  Of course it was when they crucified him.  Then later when they fought against all who trusted in Jesus.  The world is battling against Jesus and He is battling against them.  What city was taken?  It was the OT law system.  The saints of God took the city or kingdom.  

The houses rifled?  The houses mean the people’s bodies or life.  Rifled?  Here is the rightful meaning used here:  rifle 2 | ˈrīf(ə)l | 

verb [no object]   search through something in a hurried way in order to find or steal something.

This is totally spiritual.  It means the NT ministers going after those OT people to save them or steal them from the clutches of Satan.  The women being ravished has the very same meaning and also it means to fill with delight which is speaking of the joy of the Lord that we find when we come to Jesus.   We /they  went into captivity to Jesus as we joyfully surrender to serve Him. 

3 Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

[Jesus was fighting against those OT priests, and other leaders, who had spoken lies against the Lord’s truth.  Every word that He spoke came against their false way of doing the things of God.

His ‘feet’ means his true NT Ministers.  They are called the Feet of those who bring the gospel of peace.  They are the ones who traveled over the world bringing the precious news of the salvation brought to the entire world via the death of Jesus Christ, in our stead. These ‘feet’ or ministers stood on the mount of Olives, which is taught in Romans that the Olive Tree is the true NT people of God;  the only true People of God.  We are that Mount of Olives.

What does it mean… it cleaved toward the east and toward the west?  There are two witnesses in the NT of the power of Jesus Christ on earth through the power of the Spirit of Christ in his people.  The EAST means that mighty witness in the Book of Acts.  That group alone had the glorious power of the Holy Ghost working the same works of Jesus in them.  They are the beginning, or East, of the Kingdom of Jesus on earth.  After that group was taken off the world then came up that ‘IN BETWEEN PLACE’,  or the carnal churches in Revelation.  Those churches were carnal and perverted the Truth of God; changed the truth into a lie. This is the Babylon where the two women in Zech 5 carried the ephah, a talent of lead, which was wickedness, and they set it up as a base for the evil Babylon system between heaven and earth.

That is the wicked, idol- worshiping carnal churches of our day.  But after these wicked churches have run their course and it is time to bring them to judgment, God will raise up another Witness of his Power, in another anointed group of chosen people.  They are told about in Psalm 149 and Revelation 11.  This is the WEST or the ending or sun-setting of this Day of the Lord. 

So in between the first powerful Witness group in Acts, there came up a great valley.  This was made when the Mount of Olives split into.  See?  Half or the first part moved to the East.  This was the Book of Acts or the beginning of Day of the Lord.  In between this half and the second half there came up seven carnal churches, which changed the truth of God into a lie.]

5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.

6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:

7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.

[ The woman who brought forth the manchild fled into the wilderness, Rev. 12.  These are the same ones fleeing to the valley of the mountains.  Those mountains are the Apostles and other anointed people in the Book of Acts.  Part of the mountain moved to the south and part to the north.  These are those who quitted God’s  spirit in the north.  It is those seven churches in Revelation.  They picked right back up the law and all the ways of the fallen OT system, which God hated. 

A spiritual earthquake is fear that comes upon people when they see the judgment of God coming upon them.  This took place with the OT people when they saw the NT Apostles taking over the kingdom of the Lord.  It was being taken away from them and given to a people who would bring forth the fruit that God means for his people to bear.  This fulfilled what Jesus had told them, the kingdom shall be taken away from and given to a people who will bear the fruit.

V6;  During the time of those seven carnal churches was the time when the light was neither clear nor dark;  it means there was a bit of truth but more lies or the method of the law, OT system, still being taught.  So it confused the people since they thought they must still keep the law of Moses and bring animal sacrifices.  As this false church changed more and more of the truth and taught lies, it became more and more clouded to the understanding of the people.  This is when the dragon/serpent/satan or Adam was spewing out that flood of lies out of his mouth to cause the woman to be carried away.  This flood of lies came from all of the priests, pastors, prophets and others who taught the lies and did not seek for God’s truth. 

V7:  The evening time is when the people with the baptism of Fire come forth and bring the full truth back.  This is the second witness of Jesus.  They are the people in Psalm 149 and Revelation 11.  This powerful group of people will take down those evil seven churches with all their lies, and bring forth the Kingdom of Christ upon the entire earth. 

If you read Joel 3 along with this message it will become clear that it is speaking about the very same thing.  It shows how they took away the truth, stole God’s people, his gold and silver, and carried them into their temples.  They then taught them lies and scattered them.  It shows the return of Truth by the second witness.  It is saying exactly the same thing about THAT DAY, as is this chapter. 

Verses 8 - 11  are showing the bringing is of the cleansing of the entire earth and taking down satan’s rule off the earth to bring about peace and glory to the world.

12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the Lord shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.

14 And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in great abundance.

V12.  The carnal mind always makes havoc of God’s word.  They see only a carnal thought.  It looks so bad to them but actually it is glorious.  They fought against Jerusalem when they crucified Jesus and were killing all the true Christians.  Jerusalem is the kingdom of Christ.  It is not an earthly city.  So what is their flesh?  It is the same word that means we must eat the flesh of Jesus = it is his Words;  His message.  So this is saying that the lies these people had believed melt away when they finally see the truth of Scripture.  Their eyes mean the lies they saw or believed;  these lies or their understanding becomes open to the truth and they abandon the lies.  Their tongue which was speaking those lies consumed away and they are now speaking TRUTH.  It is truly most glorious!

V13.  This has the same meaning;  it is showing the true ministers of the NT taking or teaching their friends still blinded by the OT law system and bringing them into NT grace/salvation. 

 V14.  This one is most glorious.  It shows the saving of the Gentiles.  It is bringing them into the kingdom of Jesus Christ via the preaching of the gospel.  

15 And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this plague.   [This shows the bringing salvation to every nation, kindred, people and tongue.  The same PLAGUE of changing their understanding from lies to truth; from law to grace;  from satan to Jesus.   Wonderful indeed!

16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.   [This is also marvelous:  it shows that the world has been converted to Jesus and they are all worshiping Jesus as their king. ]

17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.   [ This shows that the people who still refuse to worship Jesus will receive no blessings.  Blessings are the same as rain.]

20 In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, Holiness Unto The Lord; and the pots in the Lord's house shall be like the bowls before the altar.

21 Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the Lord of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the Lord of hosts.

[The day has now moved down into the time when the Kingdom of Christ is upon the entire earth.  Everyone who made it to here will be living Holy and worshiping Jesus.  There will be no more wicked people to destroy God’s people and His truth.

What a glorious message and Day this will be!
