Miracle in Fog

Many years ago, when My  oldest daughter, Becky, was a baby, we were living in Cornelia, Ga.  My sister, Ellen lived across town in another part of Cornelia.  She was keeping Becky for me and it was time for me to go get my baby.

Shortly after I got out on the road I realized it was too foggy for me to even see the road.  I was on a back road and no place to turn around to go back home.  I dared not do that anyway, for I could not even see the sides of the road.  I could not see even the front of the car.

Never had I seen such heavy fog.  I realized too late that I could not possibly drive safely to Ellen’s house.  BUT IT WAS TOO late to try and turn back.  I could not possibly see how to do such a thing.  I did not even dare pull off to the side of the road for I could not see the side of the road.

I could not even tell if any other cars were around.  It was dark and so much fog I could not begin to see where I was or where I was going.  I was very horrified and tense.  This was even before I had received the Holy Ghost, yet My God did a miracle for me.  God is with us even before we receive the Holy Ghost.  I had to trust Him to drive this car, for I surely could not do so.  This was many years before the miracle in the mud occured.

I was  twenty years old at this time and I was alone and scared to move and knew I dared not stop.

I had not thought of this in a long time, till after I wrote about the miracle in the mud, a few days ago.  Then that night I remembered this incident which was just as dramatic or more so than the time in the mud.

I had much further to go and this fog was too thick to even know where the road was.  I can tell you, I did some praying.  I crept along as slow as I could, afraid every second.  All I could do was creep along and pray for God to direct me and keep me safe.

I know without a doubt that God had to have driven that car that night.  There is no human way I could have done it.  I was so tense and tight when I finally reached Ellen’s house, that I almost could not get out and walk.

I was totally afraid that I would not know when I reached the road she lived on.  It was total guess work and much praying that got me there.

I still to this day do not see how I reached her home safely.  I know it was not me who did it.  It had to be God.  He had to have driven that car for I had no idea the entire time if I was even in the road or not.  If I could have possibly have dared try to turn around and go back home, I would have.  But that was not a choice.  I dared not even try to pull off the road, for I knew not where the road was or if there would have been room enough to do that.  So it was a case of HAVE TO TRY TO KEEP GOING.

I spent the night with Ellen that night, for I dared not try to drive back home.

How I praise God that He has been with me my entire life and never let me fall.
