Hello `` goodby 

When you came you never really meant to stay.

Was your first ‘hello’ really a goodby?

I truly never planned it to end this way.

I wanted it to last but you never gave it a try.

With your sweet words you drilled a hole in my heart.

You played it for all it was worth and then threw in dirt.

You began planning to depart

Without even considering my hurt.

You said, Let’s build a life together.

We will climb the high mountains and trails.

Nothing can make us cry in any weather.

We will still love when all else fails.

We will build a little house with a lovely fence.

But then you tore me down without any defense. 

Up one day;  down the next.

You loved this game with no pretext. 

You said hello with goodby already in your mind.

I know of no other as cruel as your kind.

I now feel the joy of freedom and relief.

I am now happy beyond belief.

So, with your goodby

You gave me a reason to try

To live my life as I myself see fit.

So it is good that you decided to quit. 

Your trampling me down really lifted me up.

No more bitter water is in my cup.

The wind is my friend

The sun will be with me till the end.

I now sing songs of glory and joy.

I am no longer your little toy.

You taught me a better way to live.

I have loads of kindness to give.

The Lord is  my shepherd and I am his sheep.

He is mine to keep.
