The Chaff

Threshing is done by beating the sheaves against the wooden bars which separate the grains from the stalks. Winnowing is the process of removing the husk from the grains. It is done when grains are poured from a height on a windy day.

Psalm 1:4

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

Job 21:17-19

King James Version

17 How oft is the candle of the wicked put out! and how oft cometh their destruction upon them! God distributeth sorrows in his anger.

18 They are as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carrieth away.

19 God layeth up his iniquity for his children: he rewardeth him, and he shall know it.

Psalm 35:4-6

King James Version

4 Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.

5 Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the Lord chase them.

6 Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the Lord persecute them.

Isaiah 41:15

Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff.  {this is the ministry of the witnesses in Psalm 149}. what a great day that will be when we get rid of all the chaff or stubble.

and take good note of this one:

Jeremiah 23:28

The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the Lord.

?what is the chaff to the wheat?....  good question and the answer is marvelous.

Oh my goodness!  lookie at this goodie!

Daniel 2:35

Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

Do you realize that this is saying that all, I mean all of the kingdoms represented by those metals, are but the CHAFF?

wow and wow.

The chaff is the hull that holds the growing seed of life.  When it matures the Seed is saved, and then feeds the hungry....

but the chaff is beaten out so that the seeds fall to the floor and chaff can then be blown away by the wind.

Our human bodies are the CHAFF.  the Seed of Life is growing inside these bodies.

when it matures in Christ, the CHAFF will be threshed or beaten open so the Seed can be separated from the chaff and saved for FOOD.

the chaff is then WINNORED or blown away by the WIND.

the Day of Pentecost blew away all the OT chaff and saved the NT Seed.

so it is when one dies.  the beating we take as we try to mature in Christ is the THRESHING.

Arise Daughter of Zion and THRESH.

Matthew 3:11-13

11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

12 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

Isaiah 41:15

Micah 4:13Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the Lord, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth

Now, sometime they used horses to trample the wheat or corn and break open the chaff.  Our Horse is the Spirit from on high.

If we are a daughter Zion, we will thresh the wheat, in the threshing barn,

our Spirit or Holy Ghost will beat out the chaff and the coming of the Spirit will blow that chaff away.

So will it be to all the ungodly.  They will be as the chaff that is burned.

But our dust-bodies are also this husk or our own chaff which houses the Seed of Life and protects it till it is mature enough to be separated from the husk or chaff.

It is like BEING BORN FROM OUR MOTHER.

ARISE AND THRESH, OH DAUGHTER OF ZION!
